Service Options
-
In-lab (Mail-in) Service: Customers ship their pipets to a calibration lab. This is a common option that often has a quick turnaround time 24-48 hours.
-
On-site Service: For labs with a large number of pipets, a technician will travel to the medical school facility and perform the calibration and maintenance on-site -inside your lab if there is a suitable vacant space , minimizing downtime.

Calibration Proc. and Techniques
-
Gravimetric Method: This is the most common method. It involves measuring the mass of dispensed deionized water and using the density of water at a given temperature to calculate the volume.
-
Multi-point Calibration: Technicians typically test pipettes at multiple volumes (e.g., maximum, 50%, and minimum) to ensure accuracy across the entire range.
-
As Found/As Left Data: A thorough calibration will include "as found" data, which shows the pipet's performance before any adjustments, and "as left" data, which shows the performance after calibration.

Pipet Maintenance and Repair
-
Preventative Maintenance: This includes dismantling the pipette for cleaning, inspecting and replacing seals and O-rings, and lubricating internal components.
-
Leak Testing: Technicians perform a leak test to ensure there are no air leaks that could affect the dispensed volume.
-
Repair Services: If a pipette is found to be out of tolerance or damaged, the technician can perform repairs.
